Dr. Karakas is an adult endocrinologist. She earned her medical degree in Ankara, Turkey, then completed her internal medicine residency at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago and her endocrine fellowship at the Rush St. Luke’s Hospital and Medical College in Chicago. Before joining the University of California, Davis Medical School, she served as faculty at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the Wayne State University of Detroit. She established the Polycystic Ovary Program at the UC Davis in 2000. She has written more than 60 articles and received many grants to study PCOS and related subjects. Currently she is a professor at UC Davis Medical School and the Chief of Division of Endocrinology.

Well known as the founder of Studios Lyne St-Roch in Montréal and Magog, Lyne St-Roch has extensive experience in the fields of physical activity, yoga and wellness. She holds a degree in exercise science from Sherbrooke University, and has been involved with the highly competitive world of sports for a great number of years, as an athlete, a trainer, and as a consultant in biomechanics. Later, she trained as a massage therapist at the Guijek Institute in Montréal, to meld harmony and listening skills into the treatments she provided. Over the course of the years, Lyne developed a passion for yoga. As she garnered more and more benefits from its practice, she travelled to California to study with great masters, such as Erich Schiffmann, David Swenson, Hart Lazer, Shiva Rae, Angela Farmer and T.K.V. Desikachar. Wishing to share her passion, she produced two DVDs and a yoga and meditation CD, and hosted the popular Lolë White Yoga sessions in Montréal, two years in a row, an event that attracts over 2500 participants at each session. Since 2013, she also has also been writing capsules every Tuesday in LaPresse+. Having presented, over the last 15 years, numerous thematic workshops, retreats and trainers' training sessions covering all spheres of yoga, her insights have changed the lives of thousands of people. Yoga Against Harmful Stress

Stress is a normal phenomenon that allows us, among other things, to perform in a crisis. However it can be wearying or harmful when it lasts too long.
Yoga is a practice that can easily be explored to calm down, relax both mind and body, and reduce the potentially destructive effects of stress.
